Its building, inaugurated in 1932, hosts an intense and multidisciplinary program, particularly attentive to the performing arts.

From dance to the new circus, from puppet theater to music and cinema, there’s a lot on stage. But this theater is also a place for exhibitions, gatherings, residency workshops…

Serralves Museum

Portugal’s most important contemporary art museum is located in the beautiful park of the Serralves Foundation.

Conceived by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira (Pritzker 1992), it has an international agenda, with exhibitions, shows, educational activities and other events.

Reaching out to the entire community is a concern of the institution, which annually organizes Serralves em Festa, one of the largest festivals of contemporary artistic expression in Europe.

In addition to the museum and the park, we recommend a visit to the Casa de Serralves, a unique example of Art Deco architecture.

Casa da Música

The first building built in Portugal exclusively dedicated to music, where the stages are as important as the space for artistic creation and training, Casa da Música stands out on the Rotunda da Boavista – a reputation that is due to Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, who designed the project.

With a continuous program of concerts, the Casa also invites the public to try out music creation activities that can take place in a workshop or by freely exploring the Hot Spots at their disposal.

Carro Elétrico Museum

In 1872, Porto inaugurated the circulation of the “American car” in Portugal. Today, with three active lines, the electric car is one of the city’s ex-libris, deserving of a museum that tells the story of urban rail transport.

His vast collection includes electric cars, trailers and goods vehicles of undeniable heritage value, such as a zorra, a fish wagon or two tower cars.

More than an exhibition space, this is a living history museum, offering the public enriching experiences.

Ribeira do Porto

Ribeira is one of the oldest and most typical places in the city of Porto. It is part of Porto’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It’s an area very popular with tourists and has a high concentration of terraces, bars and restaurants.

With narrow streets, shady cobblestones, typical houses with colorful façades from other times and a privileged view of the Cais de Gaia.

With daytime and evening entertainment, Cais da Ribeira has a unique atmosphere of history, tradition, entertainment and beauty.

Boat trips on the Douro River

Porto was made with the Douro. To see the city from the river is to discover unparalleled scenery, with the houses forming a lively and exuberant cascade down to the riverside.

Getting to know the six bridges that connect Vila Nova de Gaia, taking the Port wine route and following the Douro all the way to the sea are all opportunities open to you, with more or less extended tours, depending on your wishes.

Clérigos Tower

An ex-libris of the city, the Tower marks the silhouette of downtown Porto. Designed by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, the baroque building, completed in 1763, was once the tallest in Portugal (76 meters).

To reach the top, visitors climb 240 steps of a spiral staircase.

The effort is worth it for the views over the river.

The monument includes a fully restored church with beautiful gilded woodwork, among other relics, and two museums.

Caves do Vinho do Porto

Crossing the century-old Luís I bridge on foot, with the traditional rabelo boats just a few meters away, could well be the prelude to an intense experience that calls on all the senses.

Gaia’s riverside area is home to the Port Wine Cellars, where the history of a world-famous product is told with nobility and remarkable timeliness.

To visit one of these places, where the best liqueur nectars of the Douro Demarcated Region are kept, is to share in the local identity in the most precious way.

O Porto à noite

Once you’ve experienced Porto’s nightlife, you’ll want to do it again, such is the energy generated by the democratic meeting of different generations and tribes.

It is in recent years that the nightlife has exploded in the city center, where there is an impressive concentration of restaurants, cafés, bars and clubs open until the early hours of the morning.

The streets are full of people, the conversation is relaxed and the music is blaring!

The best part: the entertainment is just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, but it’s more than far enough away to guarantee absolute tranquillity for our guests.

Golf

The golf courses in Porto and the North offer excellent conditions for practicing this sport.

Among others, the Estela Golf Course or the Oporto Golf Club in Espinho, both with 18 holes, located by the sea, have first-class facilities and a climate cooled by the Atlantic breeze in summer and warmed by the Gulf Stream in winter.

Surf

The beaches of Porto and the North are fantastic places for lovers of water sports.

Porto is becoming a very popular destination for surfing.

There are several schools where you can rent all the necessary equipment.

It’s undoubtedly the best combination of surf and culture for a vacation in Portugal.
