The largest hub of the Teatro Municipal do Porto, the Rivoli is today one of the country’s main concert halls.<\/p>

Portugal’s most important contemporary art museum is located in the beautiful park of the Serralves Foundation.<\/p>

Conceived by architect \u00c1lvaro Siza Vieira (Pritzker 1992), it has an international agenda, with exhibitions, shows, educational activities and other events.<\/p>

Reaching out to the entire community is a concern of the institution, which annually organizes Serralves em Festa, one of the largest festivals of contemporary artistic expression in Europe.<\/p>

The first building built in Portugal exclusively dedicated to music, where the stages are as important as the space for artistic creation and training, Casa da M\u00fasica stands out on the Rotunda da Boavista – a reputation that is due to Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, who designed the project.<\/p>

In 1872, Porto inaugurated the circulation of the \u201cAmerican car\u201d in Portugal. Today, with three active lines, the electric car is one of the city’s ex-libris, deserving of a museum that tells the story of urban rail transport. <\/p>

His vast collection includes electric cars, trailers and goods vehicles of undeniable heritage value, such as a zorra, a fish wagon or two tower cars.<\/p>

Ribeira is one of the oldest and most typical places in the city of Porto. It is part of Porto’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. <\/p>

Porto was made with the Douro. To see the city from the river is to discover unparalleled scenery, with the houses forming a lively and exuberant cascade down to the riverside. <\/p>

An ex-libris of the city, the Tower marks the silhouette of downtown Porto. Designed by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, the baroque building, completed in 1763, was once the tallest in Portugal (76 meters). <\/p>

To reach the top, visitors climb 240 steps of a spiral staircase.<\/p>

The effort is worth it for the views over the river.<\/p>

Crossing the century-old Lu\u00eds I bridge on foot, with the traditional rabelo boats just a few meters away, could well be the prelude to an intense experience that calls on all the senses.<\/p>

Gaia’s riverside area is home to the Port Wine Cellars, where the history of a world-famous product is told with nobility and remarkable timeliness.<\/p>
